At the beginning of the russian full-scale invasion in February-March 2022, former instructors and snipers of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SOF) 3rd Regiment formed a tactical group and set out the Mykolaiv Oblast defenses.

This is a significant yet little-known story with the unique archival footage of the early days of russia’s all-out war, told through the eyes of a SOF operator who led his unit into battle.

It’s a unique account of how the invading forces withdrew and escaped the pressure of Ukraine’s Defense Forces for the first time since Feb. 24, 2022. The SOF operator speaks on how the 3rd SOF Regiment, together with Ukraine’s 80th Brigade and with the support of local civilians, thwarted the enemy’s plans to capture the South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant and occupy the entire south of Ukraine.
