Former U.S. Marine fights against Russia in a Special Unit of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine
John is a former U.S. Marine who joined the International Legion of Ukraine to fight Russian invaders. John assumed that his skills and experience would be useful in combat, though modern warfare proved to be very different from anything that came before the full-scale invasion of Russia.
John took part in liberating Kherson oblast, fought in Bakhmut, and was wounded. John told us about how modern warfare has evolved, and how the U.S. public opinion on the war has shifted during the last two years.

A few words about the Army TV team: it comprises professional military personnel, volunteers, and conscripts serving in the Defense Forces since the first days of the full-scale invasion. Most of us have combat experience. Before the full-scale Russian invasion, we worked as journalists, directors, hosts, and editors. Now, we combine military service with our media expertise.
We are constantly on the front line. The channel’s studio, where daily programs are live streaming, is also close to the front.
